.:Brown Sugar Body Scrub:.

This idea has been in the back of my mind for awhile now, and I finally tried it today. I got the idea from Our Best Bites.

BROWN SUGAR BODY SCRUB
- 1/4 c brown sugar
- 1/4 c white sugar
- 1/2 t cinnamon
- 1/2 t ground cloves
- 1/2 t ground ginger
- Olive oil (I used a light oil)
- Scented oil (optional - I used cinnamon. The original recipe calls for essential oil, which I've heard can be a tad on the expensive side. I just found a scented oil at Michael's for $2.99. Add my 40% off coupon and that equals CHEAP!)

Mix the dry ingredients together first.

Then add the olive oil until you get the right consistency.

Add a few drops of your scented oil.

I put it in a decorative jar, and added ribbon and a tag. The perfect gift! (Sorry if you are related to me and happen to have a birthday in July - cat's out of the bag!)

For this size of jar, I actually used this recipe times five!

Here is what she said on her site about using the scrub:

For Use: Soap off in the shower so you have clean skin. Stir the sugar scrub and then massage into skin in circular motions for several minutes. I use it from my neck all the way down to my toes. After rinsing, if your skin feels too oily you can use a little bit of soap to wash it off. I personally leave it. By the time I finish my shower it doesn't feel too oily anymore and it adds to the benefits of a sugar scrub. It will trap in the moisture and make your skin so soft and smooth. After you get out of the shower, slather on some lotion and try to keep everyone from touching you!

I made a little tag with a shorter version of those instructions on the back.

  3. This is fabulous! I want to go self tanning next week and need to exfoliate, but don't want to buy a bottle of exfoliater ontop of self tanning. I have all these ingredients at home :)
