.:Glitter Toes:.

Last summer, my friend Lindy had glitter toes, which I had never seen before. Now they are everywhere - salons, and even glitter toes parties! Well, we are poor. I can't afford to even go get a pedicure, let alone pay up to $45 to have glitter put on my toes! Plus, I've heard that the salon glitter toes just destroy your toenails like acrylic nails do.

So, on to the solution! Ironically, my friend Stacy said she had learned how to do them at home the same day that I found this post online. Super easy and super cute!

To do your own glitter toes at home you need:
- fine sand glitter
- clear nail polish
- nail polish in same color as your glitter (optional)
- nail polish remover for cleaning up the edges
- toothpick and/or q-tip for cleaning up the edges

I chose to do mine in black! Those who know me are really surprised....aren 't you? :) I painted a coat of black on each toe, sprinkling it with glitter immediately after I painted it - one toe at a time. After I had done all five toes on one foot, I shook the excess glitter off. After I had done both feet, I waited about five minutes to let it dry. Then I added two coats of clear polish on top.

I love how they look! My friend got a multi colored pack of glitter at Michael's for about $4, so I'm planning to pick one of those up so I have more color options for next time, as well as for all the gals in my family's toes on our vacation this year! We always do crafts, and I thought this would be a nice addition to our trip!

This gives a whole new meaning to the phrase 'twinkle toes'!
