.:Mouth-Watering Wednesday - Caramel Chocolate Dipped Pretzels:.

My friend and I made these for a Halloween play group that we had. Obviously, you can change the toppings to accommodate whatever season you want! Another fun way to do them is to just drizzle chocolate to make them look pretty.

What you need:

- pretzel rods
- caramel bits
- almond bark or white chocolate chips
- toppings (sprinkles, mini chocolate chips, etc.)
- tall mug(s)
- wax paper or cooling racks

The first thing you'll want to do is melt your caramel bits in a tall mug (I have a ton that I've received as gifts at Christmas time with hot cocoa). I did 30 second intervals, stirring in between.

I kind of tilted my mug to get the caramel to spread up towards the top so that I could get it up further on the pretzel rod.

Lay dipped pretzel rods on wax paper to cool. This didn't take long at all!

In the meantime, start melting your almond bark in the microwave. Again, I did 30 second intervals in a tall mug.

I did the same thing with tilting my mug as I did with the caramel.

Take your pretzel rods off the wax paper and dip them into the white chocolate. Make sure they are cooled completely! (You can see down below that I was having difficulty getting my pretzels up - isn't wax paper supposed to make it easier???)

While your almond bark is still wet, sprinkle with whatever toppings you are using!

Let them cool, and then enjoy!

You can display them in a cute vase with candies in the bottom, put them in cellophane bags for a small goodie bag to someone, give them away as a visiting teaching treat or neighbor gift - so many fun ways to use these!

  3. What a great idea! We always do caramel and chocolate apples in the fall, and chocolate dipped pretzels around Christmas time, but we have never done caramel on the pretzels! That would be SO YUMMY!
