.:Tutorial Tuesday - Photo Blocks:.

I saw this idea over on That's So Cuegly. Lindsay had modge podged paper on to hers, and they turned out adorable.

My mom has also made some that she put Christmas paper on, and I love how they look! We are making some at Thanksgiving, and I can't wait.

So I decided to put my own spin on them. I wanted to make them a decoration for either our living room or for Reece's room.

What you need:

- 3 blocks (I used varying sizes)
- Modge Podge
- paper cutter
- paint
- pictures/paper

I had printed pictures off of my computer on to regular computer paper using Irfanview. I didn't want to use photo paper because then they wouldn't modge podge on very well.

As I've said before, we have a lot of black in our house, so I used black paint. I just painted around the edges of the blocks because I knew the pictures would be covering most of the block. I did paint the tops all the way black since they would be showing a little bit.

I modge podged my pictures on to the blocks. I had to be careful smoothing them out since it was such a thin paper!

And done! I love how they turned out!
These would make a great gift for grandparents!

  5. Yes those would make for a cute grandparent gift - maybe with ALL the grandkids...hint hint.

Jamie - You can find those blocks at Michaels on the bottom shelf of their wood section. Or for the price of buying a couple of them you can buy a 4X4 wood post and chop them up and have tons out of one 4X4X8 ft. You'll see them on Thursday night.

  10. I just put modge podge over the tops of mine. That seems to seal them pretty well, especially since they aren't being handled all that much! Have fun!
