.:Tutorial Tuesday - Interchangeable Headbands:.

This has become my latest sewing obsession!

It uses the concept of the fabric/elastic headbands combined with the accordian flowers.

These are a great way to use fabric scraps and odd pieces!

Here's what you need:

- fabric
- elastic
- buttons
- sewing maching/accessories

First you want to start off cutting the two pieces of fabric to make your headband.

Sew the two pieces together with the elastic.

Hand sew on a button. Hook buttons are best for this.

Then you'll need to cut strips of fabric. How long and wide depends on how big you want the flower.

Pin the raw edges (if you like the messy look)

and sew 1/4" hem on the folded side.

Use a safety pin to guide a piece of elastic through the casing you just created.

Pull the elastic tight and hand stitch the edges together. (I had to hand stitch because I used a very thin elastic. If you were doing bigger buttons, flowers, and elastic, you may be able to use your sewing machine for this.

Whip up a couple of other flowers and now you've got a few different headbands to wear!

Better yet, make some other base headbands, and you've got even more options!

Don't feel like making this? They'll be coming soon to my etsy shop! (Along with a bunch of other new stuff!)
