.:Mouth-Watering Wednesday - Cilantro Lime Shrimp:.

I'm so sad that I don't have a picture to share with you guys to make your mouth water a little bit more.

But trust me when I tell you that this is one of the most delicious things you will put in your mouth all summer long. Unless you don't like shrimp. Then you might want to just skip on over this post.

This is seriously easy, and the result is amazing!

I just got a frozen bag of shrimp from the grocery store. You could obviously use fresh as well.

Put it in a bowl, and juice some limes over them. Chop up some cilantro and mix that in there, too.

Let it marinate in the fridge for a few hours.

You could probably grill these and it would be delicious, but we left them cold.

Yummy to eat plain, but even better to throw on a corn tortilla with some cabbage, cilantro, lime juice, and maybe even a little Cafe Rio dressing.

It's fresh and light for the summer time, and sooooooooo tasty!

If only being pregnant didn't make me limit my seafood intake; I'd be eating these babies every day!

.:Tutorial Tuesday - Piggies Playdate:.

Before we get started, I just want to put it out there that I'm looking for people to donate prizes for a giveaway for my gender reveal! We get to find out what this babe is in a few weeks, and I thought it would be fun to share the excitement with you all! I've had a few people volunteer already, but the more the merrier! Email me if you want to contribute something; it doesn't have to be much!

In case you missed it, I shared my Piggies Playdate over at Oopsey Daisy's Summer Camp Series a couple of weeks ago.

If you were naughty, and didn't check it out or aren't following Oopsey Daisy (shame on you!), here it is for you to enjoy!

Since my girls are both pretty young still (1 & 2), I knew I wanted to choose a book that wasn't too long. We love to read books at our house, but if a book gets too long, we lose interest!

I immediately thought of this book: PIGGIES.

The illustrations are just beautiful, and the text is simple, describing words; perfect for my girls' ages! Plus, it talks about using something we use every day - our piggies, or fingers!

(No, I don't usually dress my girls identical, but there are a few pieces of clothing they both have, so sometimes it's cute!)

The book talks about each finger as a different piggies: fat, smart, long, silly, and wee little piggies! These piggies are sometimes hot, sometimes cold. Sometimes clean, sometimes dirty. Sometimes good, but at nite time, they get mischievous and skip down tummies to do dances on toes. It's a darling book, and your kids will love seeing what their piggies can do!

Hey, share that book with me!

Oh, alright.

We started off our piggie playdate by letting those piggies get dirty! We took a canvas and some paint, and decided to make a handprint of my two year old. She, of course, chose pink.

She thought it was so fun to paint her hand!

After making the handprint, it was time to get those piggies clean.

Lather up!

And of course, dry those piggies off well for our next activity.

While we waited for the canvas to dry, we did something that even my one year old could get involved in: finger puppets!

Let me tell you, those piggies had so much fun being animals, characters from Yo Gabba Gabba, and Smurfs!

And we all know what piggies are good for: finger painting! Instead of using paints to express our artistic abilities, we decided to make it a little more fun - and tasty - and use some "delicious" chocolate pudding. Yes, my two year old frequently uses the word delicious!

You can see that piggie pudding painting is very serious business.

Of course, you can't paint with pudding and not have some samples along the way.

And really, let's just eliminate a step all together and go directly for the mouth!

Our piggie playdate was so much fun, and you could easily adapt your activities to cater to kids of all ages!

.:Market Yourself Monday:.

Happy Monday!

How was your weekend?

Ours was BUSY. We were able to spend lots of time outside, and with family and friends, and it was fabulous! I'm just so happy that summer has finally arrived here in Utah.

I do wish that it would have eased us into it a bit, however; I'm not quite ready for the 90+ degree weather we're supposed to have this week. I would have been happy with a few weeks just hovering around 80.

But, no complaints; it's not 60 and it's not raining, so it is good!

Anyway, let's get on to the party! I want to see what you've been working on. It can be a recipe, tutorial, giveaway, even a link to your etsy shop! All I ask is that you link back here when you can; it's just nice, and it makes me happy.

Have a great week!

.:Sponsor Sunday - Janey's Jewels:.

Remember Janey's Jewels?

Beautiful, one of kind, gemstone jewelry?

I know, how could you forget really.

Janey's Jewels recently added this beauty to the shop: Etruscan Design Beaded Bezel Set Gemstone Stacking Ring. The detail on the bands is amazing! You can buy the rings as a set, as shown here:

Or you can buy individual bands, as many as you wish!

I have shorter fingers, so I think just a single band would be such a simple statement piece!

Another new item in the shop is this Portuguese Cut Swiss Topaz Ring.

Isn't it stunning?

I also really love this Sky Blue Topaz Petal Engagement Ring. I love how the band splits around the gem.

This Rainbow Multi Gemstone Wide Bangle Bracelet would be the perfect accessory for almost any outfit; I like how the rainbow of colors isn't overwhelming.

There's plenty more to see over at Janey's Jewels!

.:Shabby Apple Dress Review:.

I was absolutely thrilled when Shabby Apple contacted me about reviewing one of their dresses. It couldn't have come at a better time, being as we were heading to Vegas for a wedding soon after I heard from them!

Dresses from Shabby Apple

Shabby Apple specializes in women's dresses and skirts. They also carry maternity dresses and little girls' dresses.

I had a tough time narrowing it down, but I ultimately went with this Green With Envy dress. It's a maternity dress, and I just love the bright kelly green color. It was definitely not something I would have normally chosen, and I'm so glad that I did!

Green collared maternity dress with a threaded sash that ties in a bow at the front.

I love the length of this dress. It went below my knees, which meant that when I was sitting down, I wasn't having to tug it to stay where I wanted it. It's plenty roomy, and will give me lots of room to grow as my belly gets bigger.

There is a fun tie in the front, and I love the bow; it makes me feel like I'm carrying a special little package in there. Okay, I am!

I didn't get any fantastic pictures of me wearing it, but you can see that it was dressy enough to wear to a wedding, but it's also something that I will be able to wear in more casual situations as well. Plus - pockets! I LOVE having pockets in my skirts and dresses.

I love my dress, and can't wait until I can fill it out more with this growing babe!

Did you know that Shabby Apple has a Facebook page? You can keep up to date with the latest news by liking their page here.

.:Silhouette Promotion - Tattoo Paper:.

Go here to enter the My Memories giveaway.

It's Silhouette promo time again!

Silhouette Electronic Cutting Tool

This month, Silhouette is promoting their tattoo paper. I got to try some out, and made a couple of different things using it.

You may have seen the golf ball tattoos on Silhouette's blog awhile back. My friend saw this, and wanted to make some for her husband for Father's Day. Of course, I was more than happy to help!

Like the directions on the blog, all you need is your Silhouette, tattoo paper, and golf balls!

I really basically followed the tutorial from Silhouette's blog almost exactly. You make your design in your software. I used fonts from Kevin & Amanda, in case you were wondering. They have great free fonts! My friend wanted to do some that said "#1 Dad" and some that had her husband initials, "DN". You also want to reverse your text! Don't forget to do this! And if you are using your Silhouette to cut, make sure the registration marks are showing.

Yes, there are some other words on there. I'll get to those in a minute!

Print your tattoos on the tattoo paper using your printer.

Take the green backing off the adhesive paper, and smooth down the sticky side on top of your tattoo paper. Try not to get any bubbles! I like to use my pan scraper for this part.

In Silhouette's tutorial, the #1 Dad was all connected together into one shape, so they were able to cut it out easily using the Silhouette.

As you can see, mine were not.

I knew that cutting them was going to be a nightmare, not only to cut, but then to adhere to the golf balls. So, I just cut around mine with a pair of scissors, trying to cut as closely to the words/initials as I could. Yes, there was going to be a little white area, but that wouldn't matter because it really wouldn't show up on the golf balls.

Take the plastic sheet off, press the tattoo to the golf ball using a wet paper towel, and hold for 10-15 seconds. Your paper should easily slide right off.

They look pretty great, huh?

Such a fun idea!

That wasn't the only thing I made using the tattoo paper. I thought it might be kind of fun to personalize my canvas print from Canvas People (as usual, they have their deal for a free 8x10 or $50 off a canvas!)

I wasn't totally sure if I would be able to do this without messing up the print, so I did a test tattoo first on the back of the canvas.

Again, I didn't use Lucy to cut out the tattoos (she definitely felt neglected), but I cut really close to the words to eliminate as much dead space as possible. I used a wet paper towel again, but I made sure that it wasn't super wet, so that a lot of water wasn't bleeding on to the canvas. I was also very careful to try to stay right on top of the paper backing with my paper towel.

The test print was a success, so I went ahead and did the personalizing to the front of my canvas!

I love how it turned out!

This would work so well for handprint canvas prints for grandparents, or any other sort of canvas art that you wanted to add a little extra to.

I think it's a fun touch!
