.:Sponsor Sunday - Janey's Jewels:.

I love Sponsor Sundays because it's a great chance to take a peek around to some of my wonderful sponsors.

Today we get to view some eye candy from Janey's Jewels.

Janey's Jewels is full of beautiful, unique gemstone jewelry. Great for special occasions, or just because!

I love this Natural Golden Sapphire Birthstone Stacking Ring. It would look pretty stacked with other rings, or just beautiful as a stand alone piece.

Is everyone having a fantastic weekend? Our day is set to be super busy, with two birthday parties to attend, almost back to back! Needless to say, it will be a nap-in-the-car kind of day for my girls! Hopefully all of the festivities will make for a slightly earlier bedtime tonite.

Hey, I can hope!

Once again, I was blown away by all of the entries this week! Let's see what caught my eye, shall we?

Be sure to grab a featured button if I showcased your idea today!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

.:Mom Aboard:.

A week or so ago, I got invited by the lovely Tauni, to participate in a Mom Aboard event put on by the UTA to celebrate the opening of a new Trax line that will run from Gardner Village to Daybreak!

A fun train ride with other fun bloggers?

Sign me up!

I'm always looking for fun things to do with my girls in the summer, so this was the perfect little activity to spend our morning.

When we first got there, each kid got a little goodie bag. Inside were train whistles and conductor hats, along with some taffy. Pretty sweet, right?

We listened to some safety tips from Tauni before we were all ready to board. My girls had a fabulous time, watching out the window and munching on their taffy. My two year old loved to point out what she was seeing out the window. And as most moms know, it can get tiring sometimes having to have those conversations while you're trying to concentrate on driving. It was nice to just be able to relax and look for things with her.

It was a morning well spent, and I'm glad we got the opportunity to participate in this fun event!

And guess what? I've even got something for one of you!

I've got one pass for four people to ride round trip on any of the main transit lines - TRAX to Frontrunner - for the month of August.

Leave a comment telling me where you would go with the pass to enter.

I'll choose a winner on Friday and get it in the mail this weekend!

Check out the newspaper article here to read more!

.:Tutorial Tuesday - Heart Canvas:.

Did you all catch my post on Sew Dang Cute a couple of weeks ago? I'm going to share it over here again today in case you missed it!

Today I'm going to share a little canvas decoration that I recently made for my home. It would be so easy to customize to whatever design or area in your house you wanted it to be in!

My inspiration for this came from Pinterest.- and thanks to Lara over at Less Cake, {More Frosting}. Lara had this pinned, and I just loved it.

So here's what ya need:

- canvas
- fabric
- paper - try to get different textures: I had glitter, fuzzy, bumpy; it adds a lot!
- fabric interfacing
- Silhouette or other cutting tool - Lucy was happy to assist me! (Yep, my Silhouette has a name. So does my sewing machine.)
- embellishments
- hot glue/gun
- paint

I wanted a black canvas, because as usual, I was going with my usual theme of black and cream for my house. I know, I know, I need to branch out! But it matches! So I painted the canvas black and set it aside to dry.

Then I used Lucy to cut out hearts of varying sizes in fabric and paper.

Now that my canvas was dry, I started out with my fabric hearts. Did you know you could iron things on to a canvas? I didn't either, until I gave this a try. It totally worked!

Then I started arranging the paper hearts all over the canvas as well and glued those down.

Now it's time to add some embellishments.

Isn't it purdy?

I like it. Like really like it.

And I really love the different textures between the fabrics and the different kinds of papers I used. Definitely gives it more dimension.

Hang it up and stand back to check out your amazing work.

It's okay to pat yourself on the back.

You done good.

.:Market Yourself Monday - Heart Canvas:.

Happy Monday!

And if you're in Utah, like me, Happy Pioneer Day! Well Happy Pioneer Day to everyone, even if you aren't celebrating it.

We have had a weekend chuck full of family, friends, food, fireworks, food, and fun! And maybe some more food. I'm fairly certain I've eaten my weight in food, and I'm terrified to go to the doctor this week. I don't even want to know what I've gained this month. Yikes!

Maybe some of you saw this heart canvas that I shared at Sew Dang Cute a couple of weeks ago. And maybe you didn't. Either way, you get to see it now.

It still makes me happy to see it hanging in our living room. I'll show you how I made it tomorrow!

Now I'd love to see what you have been working on! Open linky party, but be nice pretty please, and link back where you can!

.:Giveaway - Watched (Book) - CLOSED:.

It's no secret around here that I'm a total bookworm. I absolutely LOVE to read, and I can't really pin down my reading interests to just one genre.

You can imagine how thrilled I was when I was contacted by Cindy Hogan, the author of Watched, to not only review her book, but host a giveaway here on my blog!

Watched is a young adult fiction novel. As I said above, I don't limit myself to one genre, and I generally love reading young adult literature. Watched was no exception!

Want to hear what it's about?

It takes more than a school trip to Washingotn, D.C. to change fifteen-year-old Christy's life. It takes murder.

A witness to the brutal slaying of a Senator's aide, Christy finds herself watched not only by the killers and the FBI, but also by two hot boys.

She discovers that if she can't help the FBI, who want to protect her, it will cost her and her new friends their lives.

Sounds pretty good, doesn't it?

It was an interesting read, and I loved that throughout the book, there were underlying messages of good morals and values. That's important to me and my family. There was action throughout the book, as well as a little bit of mystery. Combine this with the usual trials of a teenager and you've got yourself a good read!

Well, today, Cindy has generously offered to giveaway THREE signed copies of her book, Watched.

Here's how you can enter to win:
(Each entry requires a separate comment.)

1. Follow Cindy's blog.

2. Follow Cindy's Watched blog.

3. Follow Sumo's Sweet Stuff.

4. Recommend a book for me to read!

This giveaway will go through Monday, July 25th at 11:59 p.m. The winners will be announced on Tuesday, July 26th.

It will be YOUR responsibility to check back and see if you've won.

Watched is doing a week long book tour on some other blogs. Here's the schedule so you can read other reviews:

July 22nd http://starcrossedbookreviews.blogspot.com/ Star Crossed Book Reviews

You can also pick up Watched on your own through the distributor here, or ebooks are available for purchase through Barnes & Noble and Amazon.

Happy Reading!

.:Market Yourself Monday:.

Happy Monday!

Did you have a good weekend?

We sure did. The hubby and I got to enjoy a kid free date nite with our friends. We stuffed ourselves silly at Cheesecake Factory (where I also happened to drink close to 10 Diet Cokes). Has anyone had the Reese's cheesecake from there? I totally recommend it! It was fan-tastic! Afterwards, we went to our friends to play a dancing game on their Kinnect. Let's just say that a big, 'ol pregnant lady dancing to Lady Gaga isn't the most fun thing to watch back after the freestyle portions! But it was sure a lot of fun!

This past week I also got to go to a fun GNO with a bunch of your favorite bloggers! Kim, from Today's Creative Blog, set it all up for us, and we had a fabulous time eating, chatting, laughing, and getting kicked out of the restaurant at closing time where we proceeded to loiter in the parking lot for another couple of hours!

(TOP: Amy, Me, Wendy, Michelle, Stacy, Paige, Char, Kim, Cindy {yep, she and her husband OWN Riley Blake Designs!}
BOTTOM: Calli, Tam, Heidi, Jen, Kara, Ashlee)

Sadly, I have been quite lazy lately with my creating. Since getting home from our vacation to Oregon, all I've wanted to do is sit around and READ. Any other book worms out there? I can't get enough lately!

So with that being said, I don't have anything to share with you today, but that doesn't mean I don't want to see what you've been up to! Let's see what you've got to share today! Please be nice and link back here where you can!

PS - Check back later for a giveaway that has to do with BOOKS! Three winners!

.:Sponsor Sunday - Scentsy:.

Go here to enter the Purple Cow Crafts giveaway.

How many of you have a Scentsy?

I'd bet there are quite a few of you that own one!

I received one as a gift, and I absolutely love having it! The smells of the waxes are so potent coming from my warmer, and I love that it adds a little extra bit of decoration to my home. I also think it's great that it's just something I can click on and off with a switch!

I've got Tracy, who is a Scentsy consultant, to share some Scentsy products with us today. You can visit her site here if you are interested in getting anything for yourself, or as a gift for someone else!

I am a lover of cupcakes, and this cupcake warmer is just too cute!

My parents love Southwestern decor, so I think that this kokopelli warmer would look great in their house!

The glaze on this lisbon warmer is so pretty with the curls!

Scentsy also has plug in warmers. I don't have one myself, but this heavenly one looks like it would be a great addition to any room!

Scentsy even has warmers to match a kids' room decor!

The cupcake warmer is new this month, so in honor of cupcakes, Tracy is having a Cupcake Link Party all month long! You can link up your edible and non-edible cupcakes, and take a peek around for some other ideas!

As you can see, Scentsy has something for everyone, so be sure to take a look around and find the one that is just right for you!
