.:Mouth-Watering Wednesday - Strawberry Spinach Salad:.

We had this salad at my sister in law's house last weekend, and oh.my.goodness.

I'm not usually a fruit in my salad kind of gal, but this was scrumptious. Actually, it would be good without the strawberries if you're the same way!

The carmelized almonds are just heavenly, and the dressing is delicious.

Perfect summer meal!

Romaine Lettuce
Baby Spinach (about half as much as the romaine)
Sliced Strawberries
Carmelized Almonds

2 cups vegetable oil
1-1/2 cups sugar
2 tsp. dry mustard
2 tsp. salt
2/3 cup cider vinegar
¼ cup chopped purple onion (or more to taste)
2 Tablespoons poppy seeds

Mix in blender. Start with oil and add sugar gradually. Add all but the poppy seeds and blend until onion is liquefied. Add poppy seeds and blend a few seconds. Refrigerate.
(Note: This makes a quart of dressing. So unless you are feeding a large crowd, you may want to cut it in half.)

8 oz slivered almonds
2 Tablespoons butter
¼ cup sugar
Melt butter in skillet. Add nuts. Sprinkle with sugar and stir until carmelized.

Cool on waxed paper.

Toss it all together and enjoy!

  3. It is very delicious and too much testy dish. I also cook it at my home and added so much chilly powder and turmeric powder because I likes its test so much.
