.:Feature Friday - A Vision to Remember:.

I am so lucky to be here with you all today. Let me introduce myself. I am Bobbie...mother of 2. I love to sew. It is my 2nd passion next to my family. I have a little Etsy shop that keeps me busy. I sell lots of rag quilts, car seat tents, and patterns.

Every so often I will release a free pattern. This is a quilt that I have had in mind for awhile. I love how large the flowers are. I love how fun and flirty this quilt is.

I was inspired by the big flowers that I have been seeing popping up around blog land. I showed my mom this blanket the other day and her response was "I just saw a purse with a flower just like that and I want one."

I did not do this pattern as a tutorial like I have done in the past, but did it the same as the patterns that I sell in my shop

To download the pattern go HERE

Let me know how you like the pattern and I would love to see pictures of your quilt using the pattern. Now get SEWING

Also, please only use this pattern for personal use. Do not copy the pattern and sell it as your own. Also you are more than welcome to make and sell this blanket (just not the pattern) Thanks for understanding

If you want to learn more about me or my blog please visit A Vision to Remember

I would love to see you this Saturday for a fun link party called Check ME Out Saturdays. If you want to join in last weeks party go HERE. Thanks again for having me!

.:Sponsor - Your Vantage Photography:.

You've heard me talk about Your Vantage Photography before.

We've had numerous photo shoots with them, which included some of these pictures:

Your Vantage Photography
has always been super willing to work with us to get the shots that we were looking for. They are flexible, and willing to go where you would like (within reason of course!) and do their best to capture your vision.

Editing has always been quick, and we receive a disc full of images to do as we please. It makes it so much easier to get those prints for grandparents, and to keep current with the prints in our house!

Right now, Your Vantage Photography is running a special:

"Right now through the summer Your Vantage Photography is offering a Standout Wall Display with the purchase of any session at normal price. A Standout is the perfect contemporary mounting option that doesn’t require a frame to hang on the wall. The sleek edges and sides of the Standout mount can create a modern wall display with the focus all on the image. A Standout is made from lightweight foam banded with a black edge and comes ready to display with hanging holes on the backside."

That's a $25 value - for FREE!

Warmer weather is just around the corner (we hope!) and it's the perfect time to get outside and update your family and children's pictures. Take advantage of the gorgeous scenery here in Utah, along with the fantastic skills of Your Vantage Photography and book your session today!

.:Tutorial Tuesday - Silhouette Name Art:.

This was a super easy project, and I love how it turned out. It could also be a great way to use up some fabric scraps if you were trying to stash bust!

I wanted to do this name decoration to match my living room. If you know me, you know that I am boring when it comes to decorating. I like black. I like cream or white. And thus ends up most of my decorating. There's some green added in among the decorations, but I just like a classic look a lot of the time.

Here's what you need:

- frame
- large piece of plain cotton fabric
- small pieces of fabric in coordinating prints
- Silhouette fabric interfacing - clean cut
- iron

I started off by ironing on the fabric interfacing to my fabric pieces. I had cut them how wide and long I wanted them to be to fit into my 11x14 frame. You can figure that out by your frame, and by how many names you are putting in your frame.

Next I cut out each of our names, as well as our last name, doing each in a different font.

Cut your large piece of fabric slightly bigger than the backing to your frame.

Lay out the names where you want them to be on your piece of large fabric. (Sorry for the fuzzy picture; I don't know what happened!)

Iron them down.

Stick the fabric in your frame, tucking the edges around the frame backing.

Admire your simple and quick project.

Hang it up for all to admire.

See, told ya it was easy.

Are you still thinking you need to get your hands on a Silhouette? Today is the last day of the promotion!

.:Market Yourself Monday - Silhouette Name Art:.

Happy Monday!

Did you all have a fun, Easter weekend? What did you do to celebrate?

We took our girls to a church Easter egg hunt and it was F-R-E-E-Z-I-N-G. We've all been battling a cold/flu sort of thing, so that just made it that much more unbearable.

Nevertheless, the Easter bunny still visited our house, and the girls have been enjoying all of the Easter goodies that have been hanging around!

I must apologize for still not doing Showcase Saturday, or being very prompt at answering emails and comments on the blog. Our internet is still in a funk, and I'm determined to have things fixed this week! We keep having to go over to my brother's house to bum internet off of them, so I'm obviously not able to spend as much time online. In some ways, I have to admit, it's been kind of nice. But most of the time, it drives me crazy! Hopefully we'll be up and going this week, and things won't be so quiet around here, or on Facebook and Twitter.

I did this project a couple of weeks ago; I had seen something similar to it, but in a print format, and I figured it was a great time to bust out my fabric interfacing from Silhouette.

I'll show you how to make one tomorrow!

Don't forget to enter the giveaway for the Perfect Planner E-Book. It ends tonite!

I'll be announcing the winner of the Target gift card from Very Jane later today!

Aaaaaand I'll have another giveaway for you here in a couple of hours.

Speaking of Silhouette, you have until tomorrow to take advantage of the awesome promotion for this month: a Silhouette SD machine and rhinestone bundle! You can check out what's included in this fantastic bundle here. It's a steal for only $229! Might just be the perfect Mother's Day gift....

The last order of business for today is that I'm in need of guest posters for Feature Friday! You can share a tutorial, a recipe, a post of tips - most things will be okay as long as it fits with the content of my blog! Feel free to email me with your ideas, or just go ahead and send me your html that includes a short introduction of yourself and I will get you on the schedule!

Okay, enough business. Time to get linking.

.:Feature Friday - Positively Splendid:.

Hello, everyone! I am so glad Summer would let me stop in for a visit! I have been so happy to get to know her over the course of the last year I've been blogging. She is such a talented, creative, and sweet person!

My name is Amy, and my little corner of the blogging world is known as Positively Splendid.

My goal is for my blog to be a little haven of crafting and DIY inspiration, and a place where creative people of all skill levels can come and feel right at home. Because I feel strongly that everyone should be equipped to create something beautiful on their own, each and every project at Positively Splendid is explained to the last detail with step-by-step photo tutorials. I like to think of each tutorial as sitting down with friends to learn something new together! I would love for you to stop in for a visit!

Sewing is my truest creative passion. I first sat down in front of a machine three years ago, and everything I know I have learned through trial and error (and lots of long-distance phone calls to my mom!). I strive to share straightforward, thorough and easy-to-follow sewing tutorials that are perfect for those just getting their feet wet, but also for experienced sewists, too.

I recently decorated my son and daughter's shared room with this fun Boy/Girl Room Decor.

I recently created these Whimsical Nursery Wall Hangings for my youngest's room. I think you'll be amazed at how easy these are to put together.

Last year, I gave my front porch a facelift with this set of Numbered Outdoor Pillow Covers. I love the varsity feel of the vinyl appliques I created for these!

I have always been a frugal girl, so I absolutely adore upcycling and refashioning items I already have on hand to create something beautiful. I recently did just that with a set of three ordinary diaper boxes.

Curious to see how I did it? Head over to check out the full tutorial for my Diaper Box Canvas Bins!

Our back porch becomes our favorite living/eating area during the summer months. I made these Outdoor Placemats for our patio table last year, and I loved how easy and durable they were!

Throughout the month of May, I'll be hosting an event at Positively Splendid called the Summer Survival Guide: Tips, Ideas & Inspiration for a Splendid Summer. As I'm sure we all know the summer months aren't often the high time for creative endeavors, I have in mind for this guide to inspire you to keep creating even in the midst of vacations and pool outings! I would love for y'all to stop in for a visit to check out the all-star lineup of contributors and giveaways I have lined up!

Positively Splendid

Thanks so much, Summer, for having me over today! It has been fun!

Y'all are welcome over at my place any time!
