.:Tutorial Tuesday - Tablet Cozy:.

Alright, are you ready to make a tablet cozy?

I'm just gonna say it up front. Some pictures are flashy. I know. I don't have a big girl camera, and my point and shoot has been funky lately. So my apologies in advance!

What you need:

- fabric
- flannel
- sewing machine/accessories
- cording/hair elastic
- button
- embellishments

You'll want to start off measuring your tablet. For my size of tablet, I needed my fabric cut to 9"x21". I cut one flannel piece to this size, and two cotton pieces.

Next you'll want to lay one of your cotton pieces right side up with the flannel on top. Then lay your other cotton piece right side down.

Sew all the way around, leaving about a 3"-4" opening.

Cut your corners, and pull your right sides through.

Now it's time to top stitch around. I used some cording (you could also just use a hair elastic) and put it in a loop where my opening was. Iron or fold in your fabric at the opening when you top stitch to close it up. I also went over my cording a few times to make sure it was secure.

Here's what you've got so far.

Now it's time to figure out where you need to sew and put your button. Lay your tablet in and fold the cozy to where you want it.

Pin it in place. I made a little pocket to keep a pen with mine. You could leave it wide open, or make a larger pocket to keep your charger or whatever else you'd like to keep in a tablet cozy.

Sew the sides together, as well as any pockets you've made.

I glued on some lace, and made a fabric covered button (you can get the kits in most sewing sections), and hand stitched it on.

Now my tablet will be nice and secure when I take it to church (not for games people, my scriptures and manuals are on there!), or when we travel.

Easy, peasy right?

Are you going to make one?
