.:Market Yourself Monday–Peek-A-Boo Shirt:.

Happy almost Monday!

How was your weekend, folks?

Ours was quite lovely. We spent Friday evening at our friends’ house, eating delicious grilled chicken and veggies. Saturday was house cleaning day, lunch with my brother and his fam, and a nice afternoon drive around some neighborhoods to look at stucco colors for our new house. We’re leaning towards a sage-ish green with gray stones and a black roof, in case you were wondering.

Were you all super impressed that I got Showcase Saturday up? If you’re not, you should be. I’m even going to try to do it again this week. Proud?

My goal this week is to get some of my sewing done. I keep buying fabric and adding to my to do list, but I am not keeping up with the actual sewing part! I’ve decided that no more buying fabric until I’ve sewn everything I want to get done. And then after that, it’s going to be projects for our new house.

I guess I keep alluding to our new house, but I don’t think I ever really said: We’re building! It’s just a couple streets over, and we’re super excited. I’ve started a board on Pinterest of ideas of things I might want to do to our new house. Feel free to leave suggestions or links!

Also, Sumo's Sweet Stuff is .com now! I don't know if I really did the switch right, but if you need/want to update or follow along with GFC, then you'll need to go to the new address:

This week I’m sharing a sewing project that I posted on The Ribbon Retreat blog a few weeks ago: this adorable peek-a-boo shirt! I really love it, and want to make some more.

I’ll show you how I did it tomorrow.

Now, who is ready to party? Let’s check out the most viewed link from last week.

Some of the best gifts are personalized gifts. And sometimes it's nice to make something personalized for yourself!

Either way, Paper Coterie is there for you.

Have you heard of Paper Coterie? If you haven't, well, you've been missing out. Paper Coterie is a great company specializing in photo and paper products.

I ordered from them for the first time back in December. I made my mother in law a calendar with pictures of her grandkids for Christmas. To say that she loved it is a HUGE understatement!

I also made my girls a sweet little ABC book. It's always a fought over book during church!

Guess what?

Paper Coterie wants to do a little gifting of their own...to YOU!

How does a $15 credit sound to you? And even better? It's free! No minimum purchase required. And you can even apply it to a larger order if you want.

Use the code GIFTFAVES from now until May 14th to cash in.

Here are some things you can choose from at Paper Coterie.

I already sang my praises about the Calendars. The one I made for my mother in law is hanging proudly in her home, and everyone loved it!

Garden Party    A Touch Of Color

There are soooo many options of Books to choose from. We love our ABC book, but a recipe book would be a really fun one to put together, too!

Paper Coterie also offers a wide selection of Decor.

I reeeeaalllly love these age posters! It's a great way to document your children as they grow!

Or maybe you want to put a growth chart in your child's room?

It would also be fun to make a pretty Journal for your mom for Mother's Day. I know my mom likes to write in hers, and uses hers each week to take notes at church as well. Why not do it in style?

.:Tutorial Tuesday - Painted Chain Necklace:.

Go here to enter the Alice Griffith Photography giveaway.

I promised a tutorial for this beauty, and a tutorial you shall have!

Here's what you need:

- chain
- clasps (if the chain doesn't come with one already)
- paint
- paint brushes

My chain was really long, so I split it in half, and re-attached the ends to the clasp and the hook so that I had two chains attached to each end. I just did this by using my crimping pliers to open up jump rings, put the chain where I wanted, and closed the jump rings back up. You can have your chain be as many or as few as you like!

A nice clean necklace!

Next I measured my chain so that I could be sure to paint the colors in equal areas. I was using three colors, so I wanted each color to be the same length on the necklace, with the same distance between each grouping of colors.

I figured that out, took my first color, and went ahead and marked where I was starting each grouping on each side. For my chain, I was doing three colors in each grouping, with each color being two inches each. Then I put three inches in between each grouping of colors.

Start painting your two inch colors! You'll have to pick up your chain, even after it's dry, to make sure you get the chain covered well.

Looking good so far!

Once it's dry, admire your finished necklace! Keep it long...

Or double it up for another look!

You could also do this using colored chain that you buy at the store. It would just require opening up the links and re-attaching. I think paint gives you more options, but either way works great!

What colors would you do?

She also did some product shots for my etsy shop.

.:Market Yourself Monday–Painted Chain Necklace:.

What a crazy, busy, amazing, fun few days I just wrapped up. I was so fortunate to be able to attend SNAP – with Miss H in tow (sorry if her fussing ruined any of your classes!) – and had the best time! I’ll save it for a wrap up post, but just let me say that it was my first conference, and I can totally see why people do them. It’s so amazing to be around that many people that just get you. I saw some old friends, made some new friends, and just really thoroughly enjoyed myself.

But anyway, I will talk about that more in another post.

It’s time to get the ball rolling for Market Yourself Monday! This week I’m sharing this painted chain necklace. It’s another Target knock off (yes, I realize that my love of Target borders on obsession) and it’s super easy to make. I’ll show you how tomorrow.

And before we start the party, I wanted to share some pictures of my girls in their Easter outfits. It’s partly me showing off my beautiful children, but also partly because people have been requesting to see!

Here’s my three year old:

Tutorial here.

And my two year old:

Tutorial here.

And my five month old:

Sorry, no tutorial; made that one up – super easy!

I think we have done a nice job creating beautiful children, don’t you?

Anyway, let’s get to the party!

The most viewed link from last week is:

I’m going to try reeeeeeeeaaaaalllly hard to get back to a somewhat normal posting schedule, which includes Showcase Saturday. No more excuses, my baby is almost six months old! Time to get a handle on my life, right?

.:Update your home with Renu:.

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Leviton for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

Sometimes it's the little things that make a difference in your home. The small, little touches that can make or break the feel and look you are going for.

That's where Renu from Leviton comes in!

Renu offers a collection of switchplates, dimmers, and outlets in a variety of colors and styles to help you update your room in a snap!

Renu® > Brands > Solutions from Leviton Web Site

Renu products are literally a snap to change. And with 20 different paint colors chosen by design experts, you can change them as frequently as your decor changes. What a simple way to change things without too much effort!

Leviton Image.png

I was excited to learn more about this because we are going to be building a home this summer, and this is going to be a great way to add a little touch to the rooms in our new home.

I love the idea of using dimmers in my girls' rooms. It's nice to not have harsh lights if I just need to peek in on them before I go to bed at nite. Likewise, when they are going to bed, sometimes it's nice to have a built in night light to help soothe them as they are going to sleep. The dimmers will be perfect! With a variety of colors, it will be easy to match the decor in their room.

I really love the wall plates as well. And I especially love how they come in 1-2-3-4 gang configurations. The 2 & 3 gang plates even come in stainless steel! This will match our kitchen appliances perfectly!

We've got this normal white dimmer for our dining room right now. Wouldn't it look better if we added a black dimmer, or the granny smith dimmer? Those match our home perfectly, and would just add a bit more against the beige wall!

Leviton is hosting three Twitter parties coming up. If you participate, you have the opportunity to win some Home Depot gift cards!  The dates of the parties are:
