So. Showcase Saturday. Fail. I just didn’t quite get to it this week.
To be honest, this past week was a no good, horrible, very bad week. Which may be why one of my besties showed up with a Tab in one hand and a bag filled with cinnamon bears and candy corn pumpkins (squeal!) in the other on Friday. I think she knew I was teetering on the edge. (Isn’t she the best?)
So it just didn’t get done. I’m sorry.
Do you ever have days (or weeks) where you kind of feel left out, picked on, and like nothing can go your way? ‘Cuz that’s kinda how I was feeling last week. I’m sure a lot of it was in my head, but either way, that’s the way it was.
And then I hear about what Heidi and her family are going through, and I think to myself that I need to end the pity party and start choosing to be happy, regardless. And choose to be thankful. ‘Cuz you know what? I’ve got it pretty dang good.
Today is Mother’s Day. And I’m pretty blessed to have these three beautiful children to call my own. While motherhood has its difficulties, it also has its rewards, and I haven’t experienced anything more fulfilling.
(It’s okay if you need to take a moment to swoon over that neon chevron knit. And don’t worry, I’ll be showing you how to make those tops pretty soon. Pinky promise).
I was blessed with a super amazing mom, too. She is amazingly talented, and has been the greatest example of what a mother can and should be. And pretty much anyone who meets her wants to be friends with her. Even my friends. (Even back when I was in high school this was true!) My girls love their Gramzee.
I also lucked out in the mother in law department. She absolutely adores my girls, and they adore their Granny right back. And I’m pretty glad she raised such an amazing son!
So Happy Mother’s Day to all of you – whether you’re a mommy now or not, I hope you have all felt special and important today. Because you are.
Anyway, let’s move on to the party! The most viewed link from last week was:
And I’ll be showing you how to make these ruffle shorts tomorrow!
