Let’s just put it out there. I’m not a photographer.
What? You’re surprised since the pictures on this blog are always high quality and professional looking?
Yes, that was sarcasm.
I currently take all of my pictures with a hot pink point and shoot camera. It works for now, but hopefully someday I’ll have a ‘big girl camera’ of my own.
So if you have a big girl camera (or big boy if you’re a rare male reading my blog), you might want to pay attention to this giveaway from Kristen Duke Photography.
Kristen Duke is a photographer from Texas, and aside from her job as a photographer, she travels around offering photography workshops to teach you how to get out of your auto setting, and learn how to take amazing pictures on manual. It is hands on from an amazingly talented photographer.
And if you think you want to attend one of these workshops, you might be in luck! Kristen is going to be teaching some workshops coming up.
Here’s a little about the workshop from Kristen:
“I hear from so many people who buy fancy camera’s that they are frustrated that their pictures aren’t coming out as beautifully as they had hoped. I ask them if they are shooting on “AUTO” and after a sheepish admission, I help them explain why. Yes there is clarity from a quick dSLR camera, but the beauty of shooting on full manual settings comes from jumping off of “auto” and learning how to use the camera the way it was meant to be used. It can be an overwhelming process to flip through the owner’s manual, so I created a method to break it down to the basics with my book and hands on workshop.”
You can read more about the workshop here.
And guess what? I get to give away a ticket to one of you!
