I have a confession to make.
Up until about two weeks ago, I had never used washi tape.
I know, that’s kind of crazy, isn’t it?
So when Downtown Tape offered to let me review some of their fabulous tape, I of course, jumped at the chance!
And seriously, what was I waiting for? This stuff is awesome!
Downtown Tape offers a wide variety of washi tape, all at a stellar price of $1.99/roll.
My sister in law had shared an idea with me of using washi tape to decorate light plates, so I decided to see if it would work.
All you need is some washi tape that matches your décor and a screwdriver!
I un-screwed the light plate and removed it from the wall. Make sure you don’t lose your screws…especially if you have a little crawling baby!
Then start covering the light plate. I just lined up the edge of the washi tape right against the edge of the light plate, and just folded it over my corners.
Continue on, covering the entire plate. This polka dot I didn’t have to worry so much about lining it up perfectly, but when I used the stripe I had to be sure to line the stripes up.
Then I used some scissors to cut out where the light switch goes through on the plate.
Position the light plate back on the switch, and just use the screw to punch through the hole and screw it back in.
Yep, I love it. Wanna see some stripes?
How about some black polka dots? This was perfect for my girls’ rooms!
I love how it just adds a little bit extra with the décor of the room.
After the bedrooms, I moved on to the bathrooms.
And I might have done my hall way after those.
Okay, let’s get real. I washi taped every light plate on our main floor. I really love it, and I get compliments from everyone who comes over!
And what's even more awesome is that if I ever get tired of these patterns, the washi tape will come off so easily! And then I can re-cover them with another roll!
