Thanksgiving is coming up next week. Next week, can you believe it? I feel like I blinked and November is halfway over!
I’m sure you are all looking forward to the feasting that is going to be happening next week. There’s something about food that brings people together. We always joke in my family about how it doesn’t matter how many other places there are to be in a house, the kitchen is always where everyone ends up. Always.
Now I’m going to be honest with you guys. I’ve never prepared a turkey in my life. There was only one time that my parents left my sister and I in charge of it (I was home from college) and I’m pretty sure I made her do it because I didn’t want to touch a raw turkey. I’m a good big sister like that.
But as I get older, I know that more opportunities are going to come up for me to at least help in preparing the food, if not host it at my house. And if there is one thing people love with their mashed potatoes and turkey, it’s gravy.
Thank goodness for McCormick.
McCormick offers stress free, and practically mess free gravy to help us all enjoy a lower stress food preparation - giving us more time to spend with our loved ones. Not to mention that it’s tasty, too!
My family and I had the opportunity to try out some McCormick gravy this week, and I have to say it was a hit.
For me, I was thrilled with the preparation of the turkey gravy. All I needed was one cup of cold water and my stove! Could it get any easier? And if that isn’t satisfying enough, to yield tasty results with such an easy prep takes it to a whole new level.
My husband is a sauce guy. He doesn’t like to have dry sandwiches, or dry anything really when it comes to food. He likes to lather things up good. My middle daughter has also inherited this from him. We all enjoyed having that finishing touch of gravy to our meal, but they both especially appreciated it. And my baby? This is her smacking her lips for more; that’s what she does when she wants more to eat.
Yeah, I think she liked it.
One thing that especially impressed me about the gravy is the health content of it. McCormick turkey gravy is made with natural spices, and doesn’t contain any artificial colors or flavoring. There’s also no MSG and 0 grams of trans fat. Sometimes some of those ‘extras’ you like to enjoy with your food aren’t so great for you, but I didn’t feel bad sharing this with these three turkeys.
The great thing about this gravy is that you can add your own twist to it. Maybe you want to add a pinch of some spices, like some sage or thyme. The packet even gives you directions of how to use your turkey drippings for a different mix. Whether we use any spices or just leave a good thing well enough alone, I’m pretty sure this will be a fantastic addition to our Thanksgiving festivities this year. I’m thinking to get my girls to eat their turkey better, I might have them dunk pieces into the gravy like sauce for a chicken nugget. Eating can be fun, can’t it??
