This is a great project if you are just looking for a little something extra to embellish your kids' clothing with.
As you know, we are lovers of all things girly and all things glitter at our house. I saw some cute pants at the Gap one day while I was at the mall (I cannot find a picture online anywhere, I'm sorry!), and like a true crafting DIYer (and also someone who can't afford to shop at the Gap), I thought, I could make those!

And it was super easy.
Here's what you need:
- pants to embellish (got this sparkly jeans for a steal at our favorite store - Target - on super clearance!)
- heat transfer vinyl (I got mine from H&H Sign Supply, but these Tulip Fashion Glitter Sheets would work great, too)
- digital cutter (I used Lucy, my CAMEO)

I started off with my first pair of jeans, and measured about how long I wanted the border to be. I started mine right under the pocket, and went to the hem of the pants.
I used a lace border I had in my Silhouette software, and created it to the length that I wanted. The width was determined by the length and I just left that alone.
Then I used Lucy to cut the heat transfer, weeded it, and ironed it on to the jeans with a thin towel between the vinyl and the iron.
Yep, it was seriously that easy. And hello, totally cute, right?
I adore the extra sparkle and shine to the pants. It's just a fun embellishment that adds a little to outfits without being super over powering.
Hamming it up for the camera....which is a miracle because my two year old is not a fan of the camera!

That is such a fun way to jazz up some pants!

I love this! My 7 yr old would flip for these, it won't let me pin any of the images though, which stinks, I'll bookmark it, but my bookmarks aren't looked at nearly as often.
ReplyDeleteThat's so weird - I've been able to pin the images just fine. But here is a link to one of my pins if you would still like to pin them! :)
