I’d love for you to hop on over to my blog and check out some tutorials or browse through my printables.
For today’s tutorial I’m crafting with my kids.
My daughter loves crafting and I don’t have a ton of decorations for Valentine’s Day so I decided to come up with a kid friendly craft. I started with three squares of canvas that were 8x8 from JoAnn’s. In order to keep a neat edge I taped them off (I didn’t have painters tape so I used masking tape ~ it worked great!)
Then I used my Silhouette to cut letters and shapes out of vinyl.
Next I gave my kids paint brushes and three valentine paint colors (red, pink, hot pink). My only instruction was to cover all the white areas by dabbing so they didn’t get underneath the vinyl.
Painted canvas . . . . almost finished.
I used a toothpick to remove the vinyl.
I think they turned out great and my kids had fun making them. (I painted the one with the scrolls and hearts. It didn’t turn out as well as I would have like because the vinyl pieces were too small but I think it’s still good enough to display.)
I also added their names and the date to the back edge.
A few more decorations and my mantle will be complete.
