.:Market Yourself Monday:.

Happy Sunday!

Did you have a nice weekend? I sure hope so! Today is the first time I’ve been online in about two days! Which explains why Showcase Saturday didn’t happen. Forgive me?

My parents are visiting from Oregon, and we’ve been soaking up every last second with them! They go back home tomorrow, and I’m pretty sure we’re all going to have some pretty sad bones about it tomorrow. We’ve had such a fun weekend with them!

So I just have to tell you all the funniest story. Well, maybe it’s not funny, but I’m still reeling from it! My two oldest girls are one shoe size apart; one is an 8 and one is a 9. This entire winter – literally, the past four months – I’ve gone along with life knowing that their boots were those two sizes. To the point that when they got them mixed up, I would check the tags inside the boots, and be able to read which boots were 8’s and which were 9’s.

Until yesterday. My husband was putting their boots away and he asked me if their shoes were different and needed to be put away in different places (they each have a basket in their closet). I told him that one pair was 8 and one pair was 9. To which he let me know that all four boots were size 8. I told him I was certain one pair was 9, and that I had been reading the tags all winter long.

And then he came and showed me. And every single boot was a size 8. I about died! How in the world have I been seeing 9’s this whole time? I just got my eyes checked last week, but maybe I need to get them checked again? And what does that say about my husband never helping them put their boots away in the past four months? Wowza.

So maybe not funny, but I think it’s crazy that I saw 9’s because I was expecting to see 9’s. The power of suggestion, right? Who knew you could use it on yourself?!?

Anyway, enough with the rambling. Let’s get to partying, shall we? Our little party was HUGE last week! The biggest it’s been in a long time. And I love it! Let’s make it another great week of partying and visiting and commenting, mmkay? And if you want to link up what you linked up last week again, since I missed Showcase Saturday last week, go right ahead!

  16. Oh boy can I relate to the boots....I want my vision to be what it used to be daily. But unfortunately it's not. I realize that even though I do wear contacts, when I am crafting a small project my readers help tremendously. So I really can feel your pain, sounds actually like something I would do. Thanks for another great link party. So many cool inspirational things to look at.

  22. I have had the exact same thing happen to me recently! I would read things and see words that were not there all because I "knew" what it was going to say already.

The power of suggestion is very real! Glad to hear I'm not the only one it happened to!

  23. Hey there! I haven't linked up before but thought I'd share my laundry printables I just made. I love your story and am glad to know I'm not the only one who does stuff like that. ;) My son wore the wrong size cleats for baseball for about 6 weeks and I felt so silly when he was measured and he was almost 2 sizes bigger. (no wonder he complained that his feet were hurting!) ugh.
    Happy Monday! xo
