We have only 10 days of school left here in our house and it seems that when my kids are both home, I have 4 times the amount of dishes?!? How does that math work out? My kids sometimes think they need a new cup every time they get a drink! So I decided to reign in the extra dishes and consolidate my cabinet! I decided to make some cute cups that were just theirs. Ones that were color coordinated and had something on them so they could tell which was theirs! I have boys...so we did mustaches!  You could also do lips!Mustache Cups for Kids at thatswhatchesaid.net
These are the supplies you will need to make these cups:

  • Cups
  • Contact paper
  • Xacto knife
  • Martha Stewart Black Paint
  • Paint Brush
  • FREE Mustache & Smiley Print out

Mustache Cup Supplies They are really simple to make. I started with this pack of tumblers from my local Dollar Tree. 6 cups for $1 = Awesomeness! Tumblers Start by printing off the sheet of mustaches and smiley faces that can be found here.  Tape your printed sheet on top of your contact paper and using an Xacto knife, carefully cut out the black part of the face, leaving a stencil behind. Make sure to cut through both the paper and the contact paper.

Place your stencil on your cup and paint with black paint.  Remove stencils before the paint is all the way dry. Mustache Cups Let cups dry.  Repeat for bottom smiley faces!  Did you know that if you let MS paint air cure for 21 days it is top rack dishwasher safe?  Before that...hand wash! Alternate methods:  Cut black vinyl by hand!   Did you know you can do that?  Yep, just use a steady hand and an Xacto craft knife and cut the shapes out of vinyl. You can also use an electronic cutter for this if you have one.

If you are in the market for a cutting machine, I have really good news for you...I am giving a Silhouette Portrait away on my blog right now!  If you don’t need a cutting machine, how about a $100 Visa Gift Card Giveaway?  While you are over there entering, I'd love for you to check out my Heart Thumbprint Charm Necklaces that I made that would be perfect for Mother's Day as well as my fabulous secret ingredient Guacamole Recipe!

Thanks for crafting with me today and to Sumo for having me!  I will see you again next month!
