.:Market Yourself Monday:.

Happy Sunday!

Have you enjoyed your weekend? It has been SO HOT here (I know, I know, not as hot at Southern UT, Las Vegas and AZ people, but we are still hanging out in the triple digits!) I don't do well with extreme heat, so I've maybe been a wee bit crabby about it. But luckily, we've been able to get outside and have some water fun which is helping! We're loving having a backyard to play in!

Before we get started, I just wanted to remind you all that today is the last day of Google Reader! If you need to switch over your reading lists, you need to do it today! Go to this post to see what some other options for you are.

Anyway, I hope you've been beating the heat, and have some new and exciting things to share with all of us today!

.:Orange Creme Almonds:.

It’s been awhile since I shared a recipe with you all. And to be honest, it’s a bit of a stretch to call this a recipe. But they were delicious, and super simple to make, so I figured you might like it.

.:Tutorial Tuesday - Pretty Panels Peasant Dress:.

Pretty fabric just speaks to me. So when I saw the fabric that I used to make this dress, I knew that it needed to find a place in our home. And I knew that it needed to be made into something stunning.

This Pretty Panels Peasant Dress was definitely a labor of love, and it is so worth it by the excitement of my five year old. Isn’t it great to sew for people who are excited about it?

.:Huggies Little Swimmers:.

“This shop is part of a social shopper marketing insight campaign with Pollinate Media Group™ and Huggies, but all my opinions are my own. #pmedia #HuggiesSwimmers http://cmp.ly/3/8vNxcO.”

It’s summer time. That usually equates to pools, water parks, splash pads, and even just sprinklers in the yard. We love to be in the water and near the water, and love being able to splash the days away.

But you might be thinking to yourself, Sumo, how are you able to do that with your little kids – one that is still in diapers, and one that is in the middle of potty training? And to that I answer you, Huggies Little Swimmers.

We’ve been using Huggies Little Swimmers since my oldest (almost 5) was a baby and toddler.

These are a staple in my beach bag, and you can find me toting around a package in whatever sizes we’re currently using all summer long. The first thing I love about Huggies Little Swimmers is that they come in three different sizes. This is extremely important for us right now because I’ve got a one year old who is not even in the realm of potty training, and a three year old who is taking a bit of time to catch on to potty training. The size difference between the two of them is huge, and I love knowing that I can accommodate each of my girls for their ages.

So given their ages, we currently have size Small and size Large stocked up for our summer activities.

Our most recent use of Huggies Little Swimmers is when we were vacationing at my parents house in Oregon a few weeks ago. Lucky for us, they have a pool, and with the above average temperatures they were experiencing while we were there, we were out at the pool every single afternoon. Who wouldn’t want to be enjoying this?

photo (6)

It is a relief to know that I don’t have to worry about a regular diaper failing us while we try to enjoy some fun in the sun. We have a lot more freedom to do the things we love because of Huggies Little Swimmers.

We recently put a backyard in, and I know there is going to be lots of sprinkler action in the next few months, and we already have a few splash pad trips lined up. Combine that with our season passes to the local waterpark, and I know we’re going to be getting some good use out of our Huggies Little Swimmers.

Whether you are ready to try out Huggies Little Swimmers for the first time, or are already a loyal user, I’ve got a Target coupon to share with you today to receive $1.50 off of a pack of Huggies Little Swimmers. Yeah!

Click here to get your $1.50 off coupon.

Go grab your pack of Huggies Little Swimmers, and get outside to enjoy some summer fun with your little ones!

.:Edelweiss Pattern Tour:.

You know what one of the perks is to being a sewing blogger? Sometimes you get invited to be part of pattern tours, and you get to sew up the most beautiful creations that make you look really good, even though it had nothing to do with you and everything to do with the pattern.

That’s the case with the Edelweiss Dress from Hey June that I got to sew up.

pattern cover

It certainly doesn’t hurt that I happen to have a few darling models at my disposal, but seriously could this pattern be any cuter?

I love, love, love the sweet ruffle straps on this dress. The way they run down the front of the bodice, and down the back just makes me happy. Really happy. You know we love a good ruffle around here, and to have one like this is even better.

That’s not the only sweet detail of this dress. The back has a simple button closure, that for some reason, just seals up the dress perfectly. I love the little buttons, and how it just adds one more little reason for you to fall in love with this dress.

Adrianna has written such a wonderful pattern. Each step has picture instructions along the way, making it easy for even those most beginning sewist to sew along. The cutting instructions are easy to understand, and even give measurements for some of the pattern pieces that are just straight cuts.

And really, when your end result is something this fantastic, you can’t help but give yourself a pat on the back.

Reece loves this dress, and didn’t want to take it off for the rest of the day. I really love the dress and enjoyed using the pattern, which is a double bonus since I’ve got two more sweet girls who NEED one of these dresses. That’s right. I said need, not want.

If you are loving this dress as much as I am, then head on over to Hey June to pick up a copy of the Edelweiss Dress pattern for yourself. And while you’re clicking around, be sure to stop over at crafterhours to see what some of your other favorite sewing bloggers did with this pattern.

And in case you are wondering, yes, it is totally okay – and appropriate -  to sing Edelweiss while sewing.

.:Summer Days Printable:.

I’m a little embarrassed to admit that I just barely took down my spring décor about a week ago. I know, what’s up with that? As I was taking it down, I realized that I didn’t really have a summer printable to fill the frame that goes on one of my side tables.

So I decided to make one.

Simple, but cute – which is usually the way I like things in my house.

I made it in two different colors because I love you guys. Feel free to download it and use it for personal use. It will print up to an 8x10 size.

Pesto Egg Salad Sandwiches - Love Grows Wild

Hello again! It's Liz from Love Grows Wild, and I'm back with another delicious recipe to share with you! When temperatures heat up in the Summertime, I like meals that are light and don't require me to turn on the oven. Quick and easy sandwiches are perfect for hot Summer days, and egg salad is one of my favorites! I put a new spin on the classic salad with the fresh, herby flavor of pesto. These Pesto Egg Salad Sandwiches are even better than the original and sure to become a lunchtime favorite!

Pesto Egg Salad Sandwiches

After a hot day of working in the garden, enjoying the pool, or playing with the kids outside, the last thing I want is to come home and slave over a hot stove. I love egg salad because I can hard-boil the eggs ahead of time and have dinner whipped up in no time. Normal egg salad is delicious, but the addition of pesto takes it to a whole other level! Just a few teaspoons of the bright green pesto is all you need to add the perfect amount of herb flavor without overpowering the salad. I usually have a jar of pesto on hand to use for this recipe, but feel free to make your own fresh pesto with herbs from your garden!

Pesto Egg Salad Sandwiches

I like to dice the eggs into big chunks and spread a nice, thick layer of the salad onto hearty whole wheat bread. My boys eat their sandwiches just like that, but I like to add lettuce and onion slices to mine! Now THAT'S a sandwich!

Pesto Egg Salad Sandwiches

Click here to view a printable version of this recipe!

Pesto Egg Salad Sandwiches
1/2 cup mayonnaise
4 teaspoons pesto
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
6 hard-boiled eggs, chopped
8 slices of bread

In a small bowl, combine the first four ingredients. Gently stir in the eggs. Spread mixture over four bread slices and add desired toppings such as lettuce, tomato, or onion. Top with remaining slices of bread.

- Serves 4
- Make it healthy! Try a healthier version of this sandwich by using fat-free mayonnaise, whole wheat bread, and removing the yolks from 3 of the eggs.

adapted from Taste of Home Magazine

This a great recipe to keep around after Easter when there is an abundance of boiled eggs. But don't wait till then to enjoy this sandwich! Give it a try for lunch tomorrow! I know you'll enjoy it as much as I do! I'll be back next month with another delicious recipe, but until then come visit me at Love Grows Wild and check out all my latest projects and recipes!

.:Arrow Tanks with Vinyl Outlet:.

** Disclosure: I was provided with the iron on vinyl that is used in this post. I am also an affiliate of Vinyl Outlet.

Vinyl is amazing, right? You can use it to decorate, to label, and to design. There are very few surfaces that you can’t add a little bit of vinyl to! I am especially a big lover of iron on vinyl. You all know that I love to make clothes for my little girls, and iron on vinyl is just one more way that I can create unique pieces of clothing for them.

.:Tutorial Tuesday–Ruffled Cuff with Styled By Tori:.

** Disclosure:  This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Styled by Tori Spelling and Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft Stores for a campaign via The Blueprint Social.  All opinions are 100% my own.

Jewelry. You know that I have a fondness for jewelry and jewelry making. For me, for my girls, I’m not really picky. Accessories are just the perfect finishing touches to an outfit, and I’m always looking to expand my collection. Lucky for me, I was able to get a box of goodies of the new Styled By Tori Jewelry line that is available at Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft Stores.

This jewelry  that I got to have fun with is brand new to the collection, so combined with the older collection, you have countless options for creating unique and one of a kind jewelry! And let me tell you, it couldn’t be easier to put together!

I decided to take one of the beautiful pendants that I was sent, and make this fun ruffled cuff.
