I hope you will stop by and say hello!  My door is always open!  To those that have already hopped over to introduce yourself, it is so nice to see you again!  I’m so happy to be back this month to share a really fun, simple and inexpensive project that you and your kids can make together.   Summer Fun Water Play Sponge Balls!

Water Sponge Balls

Summer is upon us and if the heat has not found you already, it is not far away!  My boys LOVE to play outside in the water.  Whether that be swimming, running through their sprinkler, playing with the water table or simply dancing in the rain, they LOVE water!  I made these water sponge balls for them to play with and they absolutely love them so I thought it would be a great project to share! The best part for me is that they take less than 2 minutes to make and I bought a 9 pack of sponges for $1 at my local Dollar Tree so they are super budget friendly.

Supplies Needed:

  • Sponges (2 sponges per water ball)
  • Pipe Cleaners
  • Scissors
Sponge Ball Supplies copy This is so simple!  Take your sponge and cut into four strips lengthwise.  Sponge Strips Stack 8 of the sponge strips together in any pattern or color combos you would like.  Sponge Strips Stacked for Sponge Balls   Gather the strips and use a pipe cleaner and tie all the sponge strips together in the center forming a ball.  Finished Water Sponge Ball Repeat!  You can make them all the same color or mix and match!  Take them out in the yard, fill with water and have some fun!  My boys love to toss them in the air as the water from the sponge then rains down on top of them.  They also like to play catch with them and get extra excited when all the water from the sponge balls splash on them to cool them off!  Summer Fun Water Sponge Balls
Thanks to Sumo for having me back again this month!  If you do want to stop by I have an awesome giveaway going on right now for a 6 piece Ryobi Combo Tool Kit that is perfect for a Father’s Day Gift!  I also shared my DIY Mason Jar Straw Lids.  These are absolutely perfect for keeping the bugs our of your sweet tea this summer!  If you know of anyone expecting, I also shared a tutorial on making funny saying baby onesies for gifts!
I hope you all have a wonderful rest of the month!  Until then, keep cool and splash on!
