.:Smooth Sea | Skillful Sailor Print - Spool and Spoon:.

It's Jess from Spool and Spoon again! Happy [belated] Independence Day! I hope your holiday was full of family, friends, and blessings of freedom. This past month flew by as I spent every free moment planning my bff's bridal shower, complete with DIY centerpieces, a colorful guestbook alternative, and fun saltwater taffy favors. I can't believe that the 4th of July is already over; retailers would like you to believe that summer may have ended, but let's be real, it has only just begun! Sure, I'm taking down my stars and stripes bunting and little wooden flags but I'm replacing them with nautical inspired pieces that will last through the rest of the season. This motivational print will be right at home amidst your seafaring decor!

"A smooth sea never made a skillful sailor"

This is one of my absolute favorite proverbs. It speaks volumes to me -- all along the lines of: what doesn't kill you makes you stronger. It's a perfect reminder for those tough shifts at work, rough days with the kids, or simply when things just don't go as easy as you would have liked.

I'd be delighted if you'd consider following Spool and Spoon via email or through your favorite reader. There are plenty of other printables, simple tutorials and mouth-watering recipes for you to discover! Also, did you know Spool and Spoon has a Facebook? Hop on over so you don't miss any of the fun.
Jess is a crafty semi-newlywed living with her husband and two fur babies in a little townhouse outside of Philadelphia. She started Spool and Spoon in 2012 to document her creative endeavors and to counterbalance her day job as a corporate recruiter. Jess is a DIY girl through and through; she'd prefer her camera, sketchbook, and sewing machine over most anything else. Throughout any given week, you can find a mashup of printablestutorials, and recipes on her blog. Check it out!
