Did you catch the news last week? I was the one let go from Project Run & Play. Definitely sad; I wasn’t ready to be done! But at the same time, look at those incredible ladies! I can’t wait to see what they come up with tomorrow for this week’s theme: Mad for Plaid.
Since I obviously didn’t know until later last week if I was going to be done or not, I had to work ahead, so my plaid outfit was already done when I got the news. So I’m still going to post it and link it up to the sew along! Can’t let my hard work go to waste, right!
I’m pretty proud of this outfit. I drafted the entire thing! Just me, all on my own! The plaid for the knickers, I had bought awhile back just because I loved it. I thought it would be fun to do some pattern mixing, and brought in a lighter, more subtle plaid to go along with the bolder plaid. I couldn’t be happier with the results!
The shirt was made using the sleeve pattern I created from Week One. I also added a zipper in back to add a fun detail,
and created a bias tape to go around the neckline.
I made a sash out of the lighter plaid material as well, just to bring it into the outfit more.
The knickers were made to be kind of slim, but also have a slight bagginess to them around the cuff.
I drafted the knickers to have a faux fly, using this tutorial from The Haby Goddess as my guide.
I used the same button on the fly that I used on the cuffs.
I think Reece looks perfectly ready to take on a game of golf, don’t you?
She was really concentrating.
Thank you so much for all of your support during Project Run & Play! It was a wonderful experience that I am so grateful I got to be a part of!
Now if you’ll excuse us, we’re going to be late to our tee time.
