It’s Pattern Tour time again for Peek-A-Boo Pattern Shop. Amy is constantly cranking out patterns, and I love adding to my collection.
This go around, I got to give the Liesel Top and Dress pattern a go. And to keep it simple, I love it!
I went with tops for my girls. I think one of my favorite parts of this top is the bias tape binding around the neckline. When I saw the photo that is in the tour graphic above, with the black bias tape, I knew that I had to do something like that! It just pops!
Another thing I love about this top is the peplum effect you can achieve by doing some shirring. I am a big fan of shirring, and I think it really completes the top. I love how it pulls into the little waists!
The puffy sleeves make me really happy, too. I like how they get big, and then are drawn in at the wrists with the elastic. This will be a nice, comfortable top for my girls to wear all through the fall and winter!
The Liesel Top is a great sew. It is not too difficult, and I was able to crank three of them out pretty quickly. (Of course, I made three, do you expect any less from me?)
I think it looks pretty darling on Reece, especially with the leggings! The looseness of the shirt pairs nicely with the tightness of the leggings.
The pattern comes with pictures for every step of the way. It’s a pretty basic pattern overall. You might be new to bias tape, but even if you are, the directions are clear and you will rock it, I promise! There are measurements included for top and dress options, long and short sleeve options, neckline, and elastic. It’s a very versatile pattern that you’ll get a lot of use out of! The only part that give me a little trouble was just sewing the tiny casings for the elastic; those little wrists are tiny!
And like I said above, I whipped up three of the Liesel Top in three coordinating prints. You might see these debuting in a family picture soon!
Be sure to head over to Naptime Crafters on Saturday for a HUGE 10 pattern giveaway. You’ll also be able to vote on your favorite look from the pattern tour, so be sure to check it out!
In the meantime, go get some shopping in at Peek-A-Boo Pattern Shop!
