.:Zulily Review:.

** This post contains affiliate links. I was provided with the clothing to review, but the opinions are my own. And my daughter’s!

Have you heard of Zulily? I’m sure you have. It is a fantastic site, dedicated to bringing you daily deals on amazing clothing and toys for women and children. I’ve scored many a deal on Zulily!

zulily

We were lucky recently to be given the opportunity to review some clothing from a brand that is being featured today called Confetti Kisses. Here is a little bit about the company:

“Confetti Kisses create fresh, stylish clothing that fun-loving girls can sport anywhere the next adventure leads. Mixing modern cuts with bold prints in bright colors, each of their high-quality knit pieces makes a playful statement. Plus, the whole Confetti Kisses line is cohesive, making it easy to mix and match for all sorts of adorable, on-the-go outfits.”

Bold prints? Bright colors? This is basically describing my style exactly! And just look how darling my daughter looks wearing her new Confetti Kisses shirt!

Confetti Kisses Review

This shirt is great. I am a big fan of bold, bright prints. And I am also a big fan of pattern mixing. I love how the sleeves are a different pattern than the body of the shirt. The pocket adds a cute little detail, and what little girl is not going to be a fan of a sparkly heart on their shirt?

Confetti Kisses Review

This top is a knit top, so that means that it has some give and stretch to it. It is perfect for young kids who are busy and active. I love that my daughter can look stylish and adorable, but still be able to be a little kid! Best of both worlds, right?

Another thing I really love about this top is the length. It is nice and long, which means that she isn’t going to have to worry about her shirt riding up as she is playing. It’s nice when children’s clothing is an appropriate fit for the level of activity that they have. Kids don’t want to worry about adjusting clothing when they are playing!

Confetti Kisses Review

When we got the package, my daughter was so excited to see the shirt. I think her exact words were, “It’s beautiful! This is just a perfect shirt for me.” She loves her fashion, this one! Can you tell that she likes it?

Confetti Kisses Review

Bottom line, we love this top, and I’m pretty sure I’m going to need to do some shopping on Zulily today to pick up my other girls some things from this Confetti Kisses collection. This top comes in a couple of other color ways, and you know how I feel about coordinating my girls; it makes my heart happy.

Head on over there yourself to see the rest of the Confetti Kisses collection.

Orange Breakfast Drink {Orange Julius Copycat}

I remember when I was a kid, going to the mall always meant getting either an Orange or Strawberry Julius.  Well, I had forgotten all about the once savored drink until my mom came across this recipe.  She doesn't know where she found it, all she could tell me was that it's good.  Yup - it's delicious.  It tastes a lot like my childhood favorite.

Ingredients:
1- 6oz can orange juice concentrate, thawed (if you purchase a larger can you can re-freeze what you don't use in a freezer-safe container)
1 cup water
1 cup milk
1/2 cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
8-10 ice cubes

Combine all ingredients in a blender.  Cover and process until the drink is thick and frothy.  Serve.

.:Tutorial Tuesday - Doll Blankets:.

This project was originally shared on the blog for Shannon Fabrics last week. I'm thinking it's a great idea for this time of year, when many of you are likely buying dolls for all of the little girls in your life!

Awhile back, I made some great swimsuit cover ups using some Shannon Cuddle Fabric. I can’t tell you how many compliments I received on these all summer long. Lucky for me, I had some leftover fabric, so I made a quick little project for my girls using it!

As you can see, I used a mix of the Chevron cuddle fabrics and the Paisley cuddle.

I started off by taking our toddler Rapunzel dolls and using her as a measurement guide. Really, you can make these blankets as big or small as you like. If you have a doll bed, you might want to adjust the measurements to fit as a blanket for that. I didn’t want ours to be very big, so I made it just right to cover her.

I decided to make the blanket about 12” wide and 14” long. I also thought it would be fun to do a spin on one of my most popular tutorials, my strip baby blanket.

I cut the back of the blanket to be 14” x 12”. Then I cut seven strips to 2.5” x 12”.

Take two strips, and sew them together, with wrong sides facing each other. I generally use about a 1/4” seam allowance on the strips.

Do this for all of your strips.

Put the blanket backing and the strips piece with wrong sides facing together, and sew along all four edges. Again use about 1/4” seam allowance. You may have a bit of extra backing at this point; just trim it to be even with the strip piece.

Take your scissors and fringe all of the raw edges. Be careful not to cut your seams!

Throw the blanket in the wash to eliminate any loose cuddle pieces. It will also help fluff the fringe a bit. Then your blankets are ready to be used!

I have three girls, so naturally I made three blankets.

They have had a great time taking care of their dolls with their new blankets. I love seeing their little mommy instincts come out.

These work for baby dolls as well. The dolls got to take a nap together in the crib!

Even my two year old enjoyed doing a little mothering. What is it about babies loving on babies?

Okay, say it with me now: “Awww….”
