.:Frozen Hot Chocolate:.

This recipe was originally shared on Tatertots & Jello for Jen's Happy Holidays series. You should check out everything that's been shared!

Today I thought that I would share with you one of my family’s favorite recipes. It’s definitely the way to my husband’s heart, and you can bet I used this to get him to get a few things done around the house when I made it!

This is a super simple recipe, and it comes together really easily.

And really, this is delicious any time of year.

One of my favorite things about this recipe is that there are little chocolate bits from the melted chocolate all throughout. It just adds a little burst of flavor with each bite. Yum.

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas. I sure did. I've taken the last week or so kind of slow but I'm super excited to reflect on 2013 and reign in 2014 this coming week. One of my favorite things I did this year was start Sew Our Stash a monthly series where we share stuff that we sewed for ourselves. If you're a sewing type I wanted to invite you to join in the selfish sewing this coming year as you're making your New Year's resolutions. I know the accountability has been great for me. You can read more about the series here.

A bunch of great ideas for New Years Eve party food - Rae Gun Ramblings

Another reason I'm excited for New Years is for party food. I'm a total sucker for appetizers and munchies. So today's features are some of the great finger foods and beautiful desserts that you guys have linked up over the passed parties! And here are also some from our hosts.

.:Last Minute Neighbor Gift:.

Has Christmas snuck up on you like it has me? That late Thanksgiving really threw me off this year!

If you’re still looking for some quick and easy gifts to give to neighbors and friends, I’ve got just the thing for you! This last minute Cookie Neighbor Gift is super simple to put together, and everyone loves cookies, right?

Last Minute Neighbor Gift at www.SumosSweetStuff.com - Make bakery style cookies, put individual cookies into CD sleeves, package & deliver! #gifts #Christmas

You can use whatever recipe you like; I used this recipe from All Recipes for bakery style chocolate chip cookies.

My tip for using this recipe is to make up the dough exactly as the recipe says, and then let the dough cool in the fridge for at least an hour. I actually let it cool over night. When you go to make your cookies, make the balls of dough just under 1/4 cup. They will bake up nice and big, perfect for slipping into CD sleeves.

I found the craft CD sleeves at Wal-Mart – perfect for dressing up with twine, ribbon, or whatever else you like!

Come on. Who wouldn’t like to get a stack of cookies to pass out to their family? I know my girls would love having their own individual cookie in a CD sleeve.

And really, this would make a great gift for any time of year!

Happy baking!

I have been moving for the last couple weeks into our very own new house (we have been renting for the past 10 years!) and so my blog hasn't had a ton of posts lately since I have been between places with internet, but I have still been able to post a couple times a week. I am all moved in now, so back to business as usual, and with a new house that means lots of new projects! I would love to have you follow along, maybe on Instagram, Pinterest or Google +? We have had a bit of snow lately, and although I am not a fan of snow, I am a fan of a snowman! Here are 7 cute crafts and recipes from you guys last week to inspire to make a frosty fellow of your own, either out of the freezing real stuff...or if you're like me, I'd rather stay inside and make something like these...

Almond Joy Truffles

With the coming Holidays it seems candy making in my kitchen is at an all-time high.  I love having no-bake recipes, such as this, that are a snap to whip up and can be left for snacking when guests arrive.

And the best part?  These taste just like an Almond Joy candy bar.  What could be better?

Almond Joy Truffles
makes approx 24 truffles

1/3 cup coconut cream {NOT coconut milk}
3/4 cup shredded coconut
1 1/2 cups white chocolate chips
1/3 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 Tablespoon butter
1/3 cup shredded coconut, place in a shallow bowl or on a plate, to roll the truffles in

In a medium-size saucepan bring the coconut cream and 3/4 cup shredded coconut to a simmer over medium-high heat, stirring frequently.

Once the mixture simmers, turn off the heat, add the white and chocolate chips and butter and stir vigorously, keeping the pan on the burner, until the chips melt completely.

Pour the mixture into a bowl and refrigerate until firm, about 3 hours.

Using a spoon or a small cookie scoop, scoop out some of the truffle mix, roll between your hands to form it into a ball, and then roll it in the reserved coconut.  Repeat with remaining truffle mix.

Refrigerate truffles until ready to serve, or up to 1 week.

Wishing you all Happy Holidays and a safe and Happy New Year.
Until next month!

.:Santa Plate:.

** This post contains affiliate links.

This post was originally over at Positively Splendid for Amy's Swell Noel series. There are lots of great ideas over there!

I decided to share something that is super simple to make, but also super important for any of the little kids in your life.

Santa Plate at SumosSweetStuff.com #christmas

Here’s what you’ll need:

- charger plate
- vinyl
- transfer tape
- digital cutting machine (I used my Cricut Mini, but you can easily do this with any machine!)

Santa Plate at SumosSweetStuff.com #christmas

Measure the width of the outside of the charger plate. Plan to create your text and graphics to fit this measurement.

Santa Plate at SumosSweetStuff.com #christmas

Cut out the vinyl, and then peel the negative space. Place transfer tape over your design, and use the transfer tape to apply it to the plate. Rub the design down well, and slowly peel up the transfer tape.

Santa Plate at SumosSweetStuff.com #christmas

Since a plate has a curve, you may choose to split up the words to get a better curved effect with your vinyl.

Santa Plate at SumosSweetStuff.com #christmas

Now you are all ready for Christmas Eve! Get out the cookies and milk, and Santa will be able to eat off this darling plate.

Santa Plate at SumosSweetStuff.com #christmas

And if you must know, I did have to sample the cookies. Someone had to do it for the photo, right? Let's not talk about the additional cookies I had afterwards. Ahem.
