Boy, Oh Boy, Oh Boy Crafts: Olympic Rings Sun Catcher

Hi there!  Do you have Olympic fans at your house?  We get really excited around here, especially for the Winter Olympics.  Nothing amazes me more than watching the incredible skill and daring involved in most of the Winter Olympic sports.  We're down to less than 23 days until all things snowboarding, skiing, toboggan-ing take over the TV so we've started gearing up with a few crafts to get us ready to cheer on Team USA.  This Olympic Ring sun catcher craft is sure to get you in the spirit.

Supplies:
- wax paper
- tissue paper (green, blue, black, red, and yellow)
- pencil, scissors, paint brush, glue cup
- paper plate and smaller circle for tracing
- Elmer's glue thinned with a tsp of warm water

Trace a paper plate onto 5 separate pieces of wax paper.

Then trace a smaller circle in the middle of each paper plate sized circle.  Cut out each circle creating a ring.

Cut each shade of tissue paper into small squares.  You'll want a good handful of each color.

Now use the thinned glue to glue a different color tissue paper on each wax paper ring.  You'll want to spread the glue down on the waxed paper, overlap the tissue paper pieces and then go over each tissue paper piece with another layer of glue.

Allow the rings to dry on newspaper, moving  a few times during drying to prevent sticking.

Tape to your window in proper Olympic ring order and enjoy as the sun shines through.
