By now, you should know that I am not only a fabric-a-holic, but a pattern-a-holic as well. And when Jess from Craftiness Is Not Optional offered to let me sew up her latest pattern, the Nessie Top, I jumped at the chance!
This pattern is beyond adorable. It is a pattern designed for knits, which I have really enjoyed sewing with lately. I got this great sweatshirt fabric from Girl Charlee. It is a bit stiffer, so it holds the shape of the shirt. I think the wide fit of the top looks so cute on their little bodies.
Jess recommends to finish off the neckline, and hem lines with a double needle. This was my first time using one and I am now hooked! It just finishes off the tops really nicely.
The top also features a hi-lo hemline, which is another thing I have a fondness for. I just really love the shape of this top!
Since the top is knit, it is super comfortable and easy for my girls to be kids in. They loved wearing their soft, comfy new shirts.
The great thing about this pattern is that it comes with A LOT of options. You can do a basic version like I did, but there are different sleeve lengths, a color block option, and even a peter pan collar option. Talk about versatile!
After watching her sister pose for some pictures, Harper decided to channel her inner model as well. I think she’s got it down; hip pop and Blue Steel, plus her cute face – what else does she need?
You will love this pattern. It is versatile, and just a great sew. I have a feeling this will be getting a lot of use for my sewing!
