Being a mom of young kids, you can bet that I need to find ways to keep myself going. Our mornings can be pretty crazy sometimes, and often I either don't eat anything at all, or I just grab something snacky that doesn't really cut it. Well, now I've got a secret weapon: Honey Bunches of Oats Morning Energy.


This delicious cereal comes in two amazing flavors: Chocolatey Almond Crunch and Cinnamon Crunch. My first taste was of the Chocolatey Almond Crunch, and it was after I had just gotten home from a workout. Seriously I think we did about a million squats that morning. Maybe not that many, but it sure felt like it. So I was feeling it when I got home from my class. I knew I was going to be zapped for the day, and was anxious to give this new cereal a try. Doesn't it look tasty? 


Excuse the picture of me post workout, but this is just me enjoying my Chocolatey Almond Crunch. And believe me when I say enjoy. I loved the slivered almonds, and of course the little nuggets of chocolate. The cereal has tasty little granola clusters, and the crunch is great. I felt that the cereal was filling, and kept me full and with energy as we went about the rest of our morning.


The next morning, I gave the Cinnamon Crunch a try. We were bustling around, getting ready for pre-school car pooling and then off to cram in some errands while two out of three were at school, but I made sure to make time to eat this cereal. The cinnamon flavor is so yummy. It's subtle and not overpowering, but still really good. It reminded me more of some sort of baked good, and I'm sure this is a must healtheir substitute for a muffin or something of the likes.


Again, it had the yummy granola clusters, and it was the perfect blend of flavors. I was able to get everything done that I needed to without starting to feel snacky, which can always be dangerous when you're at the grocery store. 

Oh, don't mind my big open mouthed picture; just enjoying some delicious cereal.


We love cereal at our house. My girls will prefer cereal over any other breakfast nine times out of ten, so it is great to have options that are healthy and filling, but still provide some variety and even a bit of decadent flavor. 

You'll want to get out and give this cereal a try. Whether you are busy shuttling kids around, off to a full time job, or both - you'll want to have this on hand to help you through your mornings!

I kind of thought that the Chocolatey Almond Crunch was going to be my favorite because, well, chocolate. But I think I might be more of a fan of the Cinnamon Crunch.

  1. Oh my, this cereal DOES look yummy!! I am a huge cinnamon fan so I can't wait to try that one! Off the subject question for you tho. How do you get the little slash of eye liner at the outsides of your eyes to look SO lite? Does it stay like this or during the day does it run/rub off? It looks so nice & really makes your large eyes just POP!! Thanks for the cereal update & review!!

    1. You're so sweet! I actually don't do anything past putting it on and being careful not to rub my eyes. I just use a cheap eye liner pencil (Wet 'N Wild) and that's it! I don't have any tips at all, but as long as I remember not to touch it, it pretty much stays put during the day. :)
